About Us

Our Story

Like most great ideas the Brighton Kitchen Company grew from hands-on experience and some creative thinking. Chris Burton, our Managing Director, began running a bathroom installation business in Brighton and Hove. He discovered that many of his clients were dissatisfied with the options on offer in existing stores, and wanted something a bit different for their homes.

Realising that there was a real demand for exciting, innovative design-driven ways to update a home, Chris set up our sister company, The Brighton Bathroom Company. As this business grew and thrived he realised that we could use our interior design expertise to help create stunning kitchens too. showroom. This is next door to the other showroom, so you can tackle the two biggest room renovations in one easy trip. It’s also where you can experience the best of our kitchen designs, from the copper inserts in the concrete floor to the playful use of colour, or the exquisite handmade furniture and the tiles designed to mirror a tap.

We’ve designed, crafted and installed kitchens in Mid Sussex, West Sussex, Kent and Surrey.

Meet the Team

Chris Burton

Managing Director

Chris has held a passion for kitchen & bathroom design and interiors for over ten years and is a self-proclaimed perfectionist. His successful kitchen and bathroom business is driven on a philosophy that design should be more than just choosing from a standard set of products, often sold due to margins or familiarity. It should be a design led experience with consideration towards all aspects of the interior. Chris is a keen motorcycle enthusiast and loves doing trackdays in the UK and Europe with friends.

Lilly Sprankling


Lilly has previously worked for a lifestyle brand where she perfected her customer service skills as well as her knowledge of home furnishings. This, coupled with her passion for architecture and interiors, led her to study interior design at the National Design Academy. Through her studies she discovered her love of kitchen design and the technical details that are necessary for a successful design. She enjoys getting design inspiration while traveling around the world, which is also where she gathers new cooking recipes to try at home. She spends her free time on independent design projects and up cycling furniture.

Diana MacGregor


Diana has extensive experience in the world of luxury kitchens. She trained in Chelsea under the watchful eye of a Senior Designer, where she honed her interior design and spatial planning skills. She is passionate about design and loves the collaborative journey with each client from initial ideas to completion of the project. Her design aesthetic combines a love of bespoke detail and functionality. She spends her free time cooking for friends, going to gigs and cycling

Carol Akehurst

Office Manager

Carol has worked in operations management for the past fifteen years and enjoys the challenge of hectic schedule. Organised and focused, she is an important part of both the kitchen and bathroom business. Carol manages all aspects of administration within the business, with an efficient and methodical approach. She ensures our after sales service, logistics and deliveries run as seamlessly as possible. We consider Carol to be the daredevil of the company! If she isn’t bungee jumping in Australia she is riding her motorbike across country. She is also a big fan of motorsport and a keen car enthusiast.

Dave Button

Warehouse Manager

Dave is the company’s delivery driver and warehouse manager. He takes great care and attention when dealing with our customer’s orders and is a valued member of the team. He has worked for the company for many years, overseeing product quality control and ensuring that items are delivered to site on time. Always with a smile on his face, Dave also helps us with the day-to-day maintenance of the kitchen and bathroom showrooms with his useful handyman skills. Dave enjoys cooking, all sports including cycling, football and tennis, and a good beer.

Our small, carefully selected team of installers have been working with both The Brighton Kitchen Company and The Brighton Bathroom Company for many years. This expert team of trusted tradespeople have developed a good relationship with our designers to ensure that each and every design is completed to an exacting standard.
