About The Brighton Kitchen Company

Our story

We started our company in 2010 and have now been trading for 14 years. At the beginning, we specialised in the design, supply and installation of unique and innovative bathrooms. We have been featured in many national magazines with our projects because we believe we go to extra efforts to ensure that we create bathroom designs which are unique to each client and that push the boundaries of traditional bathroom design.

In 2016, we felt that this design ethos and the way in which we approach bathroom design could be translated into the world of kitchen design. Following a major renovation, we opened the doors of our large cutting-edge kitchen showroom in Hickstead, West Sussex adjoining our bathroom showroom which offer 150m2 of design inspiration for your project. The company was immediately a success and our first clients were previous bathroom design clients who wanted to work with our company to design a unique and original kitchen for their homes.

Chris Burton our founder grew up in Ramsden Heath near Billericay in Essex and in early 2019, we renovated and then opened our gorgeous second showroom in the beautiful village of Stock, Essex opposite The Bear pub. This boutique showroom was immediately a success with local clients and showcase beautiful contemporary and painted shaker kitchens.

Alex Kraus

Director

Alex is extremely proud to head up our Kitchens. He comes very much from a technical background and will not leave a detail unturned. He has a very casual approach to discussions with clients with the intent of making the whole process as informal, personal and enjoyable as possible. Alex is extremely knowledgeable in both product as well as all areas of installation which has led to many professionals in the kitchen sector calling on him over the years for help and advice.

Office Manager Carol Akehurst

Operations Manager

Carol has worked in operations management for the past fifteen years and enjoys the challenge of hectic schedule. Organised and focused, she is an important part of both the kitchen and bathroom business. Carol manages all aspects of administration within the business, with an efficient and methodical approach. She ensures our after sales service, logistics and deliveries run as seamlessly as possible. We consider Carol to be the daredevil of the company! If she isn’t bungee jumping in Australia she is riding her motorbike across country. She is also a big fan of motorsport and a keen car enthusiast.

Chelsea Rickatson

Sales Support

Chelsea is our newest member of the team. With previous experience in the property industry, her organisation and communication skills aid her within her Sales Support role. Her passion for people transpires with her positive attitude at work where she will always strive to achieve quality customer service with smile on her face. She has a keen interest in interior design and is currently completing a diploma on this subject. Chelsea is a house plant enthusiast, and outside of work enjoys cooking, walking and pub lunches.

Justin Lambert

Deliveries & Professional Photographer

Justin is our warehouse manager and delivery driver part time and is a professional photographer too (you can see that from his profile pic!!). He can take credit for all of the beautiful photography on our kitchen and bathroom websites and enjoys keeping fit with running and calisthenics which keeps hime in very good shape. Justin is also the partner to Chris’ sister Sarah and so is part of our family too.

Founder

Chris has held a passion for kitchen & bathroom design and interiors for over ten years and is a self-proclaimed perfectionist. His successful kitchen and bathroom business is driven on a philosophy that design should be more than just choosing from a standard set of products, often sold due to margins or familiarity. It should be a design led experience with consideration towards all aspects of the interior. Chris is a keen motorcycle enthusiast and loves doing trackdays in the UK and Europe with friends.
