At the Brighton Kitchen Company, we know how important colour is to the overall design of your kitchen. That’s why with all of our bespoke kitchen designs we take colour as seriously as the design itself. If you are looking for inspiration, here’s what our design team have to say about kitchen colour.
Block colour kitchens
We work with each of our clients intensely to understand exactly the look they are trying to achieve in a new kitchen. We understand that choosing a kitchen colour is a very personal thing. The colour you choose reflects your vision, and is the perfect way to inject personality into your home. There are limitless possibilities with colour, just as there are with design.
Our design team are experts at understanding how colour works in different spaces, so can offer you the ultimate guidance in getting a tone and shade just right to make your kitchen stand out from the crowd. Whether you want to use colourful accents or go for full base colour cabinetry, we know exactly how to add drama and depth to kitchen design.
Block colour kitchens in your chosen shade are perfect for creating a scheme that suits your individual style. We absolutely love inky dark paint choices (the Railings paint colour by Farrow & Ball is one of our favourites). Our painted kitchens offer real longevity. As time goes by a repaint will give your kitchen a whole new lease of life
If deep colours feel too overwhelmingly dark for your personality, our range of calming palettes enhance spaces without feeling overpowering. While we love a kitchen with a dramatic colour scheme, we are equally passionate about creating refined, elegant and serene kitchen spaces with subdued colours.
White kitchens will never fade from the spotlight when it comes to kitchen design. Why? Quite simply, they are unashamedly modern and bright. White accentuates clean lines and sharp edges like no other colour.
While smaller kitchens benefit from being all-white as it gives the space a light, airy feel, large white kitchen spaces also lend well to a white colour scheme by becoming grandly expansive. A white kitchen can be anything you want it to be. Incorporate white marble, gold accents and ornate vintage lighting to make your kitchen space unashamedly glamorous. Keep it pure and simple for the ultimate in minimalist living. Scandinavian simplicity works.

“The team managed to combine contemporary with traditional and certainly had a sixth sense as to what I was looking for. Pete and his team were wonderful too – everyone friendly and courteous and always cleaned up at the end of the day. It’s been a pleasure and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others.”
We’re huge fans of the grey painted kitchen. Trending for a while now, and set to stay on the scene, grey kitchens are elegant, cool and create a focal point without being overpowering. Warm grey tones work brilliantly with classic navy if you fancy adding something striking to your kitchen design.
Grey can balance out a room with statement features. We’re still smitten by soft putty grey (Farrow & Ball’s Purbeck stone paint colour does understated mid grey like no other).
Grey-blue is also trending and we’re experts at using slightly different hues to create tonal interest to kitchen spaces. And, of course, bold greys work brilliantly in industrial kitchen styling, so if that is the look you are going for, grey just has to feature.
The great thing about grey is that it works to dress up almost any kitchen style, so whether you want contemporary, traditional or understated elegance, it’s a versatile colour that is incredibly pleasing to the eye.
Cream kitchens are the obvious choice if you want to create a light and bright kitchen space, but feel an all-white kitchen feels too sterile. Cream is the perfect colour choice for creating a modern kitchen with a traditional heart. Elegant, traditional kitchen designs in cream are the ultimate statement for refined homes.
Cream kitchens can be in modern, traditional or rustic designs, and are suitable for all types of home from cottages to modern townhouses and grand country homes.
